Gaia - One of a Kind, porcelain sculpture. No mould used, sculpted and painted entirely by hand.

Ilona is currently working on a set of sculptures in the style of imaginative/magic realism and fantasy, related to nature and the feminine, the role of a woman in the modern world and her personal journey as an artist, mother and the "chosen sensitive" (caretaker, home-maker, multitasker et al.) and how those roles affect her ability to remain genuine to herself.

The different roles an artist, a woman and a mother play, all in one, in the mundane (or not?) everyday are intertwined with the fluence nature has on the soul.

This project explores the links between all of the above ideas and tries to both unify and appreciate every single one of them- together and separately.
